This fun crochet stitch looks so cute when you combine 2 colors of yarn. You can make a baby blanket out of it as it will create great looks for your work on both right side and wrong side. Using it to crochet chair cushion/ seat pad is a great choice as well.

Free Ice Cream Stitch Written Pattern
Materials
- Yarn and hook to your preferences - I use 2mm yarn and 3mm crochet hook
- Scissors & yarn needle
Abbreviations (US terms)
- R: row/ round
- Ch: chain
- St: stitch
- Sk: skip stitch
- Hdc: half double crochet
- Dc: double crochet
- FP: front post
- FPhdc: front post half double crochet
- Cl: cluster stitch
- 5FPhdc-cl: cluster stitch made from 5 half double crochet
- (...): the stitches in the parentheses must all be worked to one single stitch
- (...) x N: repeat the instructions in the parentheses N times
- Turn: flip the work like turning a book page in order to crochet on the other side
- [...]: the number of stitches of a row/ round
- <color>: color of yarn to be used or changed to
Ice Cream Stitch Crochet Pattern
Chain a multiple of 4. For example, make 24 chains (=4x6)
The 'ch3' at the beginning of a row is counted as a double crochet

R1. <white> Ch3, (3dc) to the 5th ch from hook, (sk3, (3dc)) x5, sk1, dc
R2. <white> Ch1 & turn, (2sc, 5FPhdc-cl) x6, 2sc - the cluster stitch should be worked to the middle double crochet of the set of (3dc) made in R1
R3. <purple> Ch3 & turn, dc to the next st, ((3dc) to a space) x5, 2dc
R4. <purple> Ch1 & turn, sc, (2sc, 5FPhdc-cl) x5, 3sc
R5. Ch3 & turn, ((3dc) to a space) x6, sc
R6 - 8: Repeat R2 - 4
R9 - 12: Repeat R5 - 8
